Legendary French chef Alain Ducasse has been tapped to take his celebrated cuisine to new heights. The astronauts aboard the International Space Station will have some exciting new food on their plates this summer, as NASA struck a new deal to provide them with some impressive gourmet French cuisine on special occasions.
The French chef’s final menu was decided upon by the gourmand astronauts themselves, with about 25 dishes on a list that includes French lobster served with celeriac puree, organic quinoa with seaweed; duck confit garnished with capers, and a chocolate cake.
Ducasse will collaborate with French paté manufacturer Hénaff. NASA awarded to contract to Hénaff because it’s the only French food company that uses manufacturing and packaging techniques that comply with USDA standards.
