A Bug’s Life is an comedy adventure animation film. It was produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film was directed by John Lasseter and co-directed by Andrew Stanton. It involves a misfit ant, Flik, who is looking for fighters to guard his colony against grasshoppers. He recruits a group of bugs but in reality they are an inept circus troupe. The music of the film was composed by Randy Newman and the voice actors include Dave Foley, Kevin Spacey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hayden Panettiere, David Hyde Pierce, Joe Ranft, Denis Leary, Jonathan Harris, Madeline Kahn, Bonnie Hunt, Brad Garrett, and Mike McShane.

The film is considered to retell the Aesop’s fable “The Ant and the Grasshopper” but is also a loose remake of Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa. Production began in 1995. The characters in the film were re-designed bugs to be more appealing, and studio used new technical innovations in computer animation in the making of the it.
